A: This is a universal kit that requires cutting and welding for installation. It includes eight 40" polished 304 stainless steel straight pipes; other parts like elbows and hangers must be purchased separately.
A: The kit can be used to make downpipes, mid-pipes, axle-back sections, crossover pipes, or to repair rusted sections of the factory exhaust.
A: As a general rule, stock pipes ≤2.5" may upgrade to 3.0–3.5" with engine mods, while stock pipes ≥3" can move to 3.5" after checking engine flow requirements.
Exhaust pipes can reach extremely high temperatures depending on engine load, driving conditions, and exhaust design. Under normal operation, most vehicles’ exhaust systems heat up to around 400–500°F (200–260°C), while during hard acceleration or towing, temperatures can rise to 800–1,000°F (425–540°C). The hottest area is typically the exhaust manifold or header, which may exceed 1,200°F (650°C) before gases cool down along the system.
As exhaust gases travel through the catalytic converter, muffler, and tailpipe, the temperature gradually drops to around 200–400°F (93–204°C) near the outlet. Factors such as air-fuel ratio, material type, and pipe design also affect heat levels. Because of these extreme temperatures, using heat-resistant materials, wraps, or shields is essential to protect nearby components and ensure long-term performance.
